This is great way to try out acting and learn all about the theatre at one of the most successful shows in the world. First of all, before the day, you'll be sent a synopsis of the show on CD (read by Sir Ian McKellan) so that you're familiar with the story. The big day starts off with a fantastic three-hour kids' workshop - no adults allowed! This includes a backstage tour of the theatre and a drama workshop based on improvisational games that will bring out your inner star. The workshop ends which a re-enactment of a scene from the show, using real costumes and props, plus a chance to quiz a real member of the Les Mis cast and a certificate to take home. A packed lunch with a sandwich, crisps, apple and juice is included (sorry but special dietary needs can't be catered for, so bring your own lunch if you prefer). Meanwhile mum or dad can enjoy some free time in London, returning to the theatre in time for both of you to watch a matinee performance of the hit musical.

Did you ever dream of running away to join the circus when you were a kid? Or perhaps you preferred playing cowboys and Indians? Well this day will show you the skills required to be both Coco the Clown and Billy the Kid. In the morning try your hand at the skills which defined the cowboys of the Wild West - lassoing, whip cracking and knife throwing from ten paces. After lunch and a chance to get your breath back, you'll learn the circus skills that entertain crowds worldwide. These include acrobatic balancing, juggling, tight wire walking and the amazing flying trapeze. If it all sounds impossible, and frankly pretty scary, don't worry; you'll be under constant expert supervision, within a carefully controlled environment. All equipment hire is included, and you'll also get lunch at the nearby Juggler Cafe. Just bring a sense of humour, bags of energy and willingness to look like a bit of a clown...

If it all sounds impossible, and frankly pretty scary, don't worry; you'll be under constant expert supervision, within a carefully controlled environment. All equipment hire is included (except for the natty sequined costume), and you'll also get lunch at the nearby Juggler Cafe. Just bring a sense of humour, bags of energy and willingness to look like a bit of a clown...

Your experience begins with a welcome and introduction to the Western Paint horses, Boston, Gypsy and friends. You'll meet your own trusty steed, saddle up and head off for a one hour riding lesson in the Western Riding Arena - western style. It's easier to learn and feels more secure than riding English-style, so it's great even for beginners. Scuba diving always looks so tempting on holiday, but if you've never tried it before then it can seem like going in at the deep end (pun fully intended). Back in rainy Britain it's very easy to forget why diving seemed so appealing. But learning how to scuba dive is a ticket to a lifetime of underwater adventure and this family experience is a perfect introduction to the sport. You'll get expert instruction on safety and underwater mobility techniques, then you'll learn how to breathe underwater and achieve weightlessness while getting used to the equipment. Courses take place in swimming pools under controlled conditions - and while it might seem a long way from diving in a tropical ocean, it's the perfect way for your family to get a basic grounding in diving and find out whether you like it. It's also ideal for anyone considering taking a PADI Open Water Diving Course. At the end of the session younger kids (under 10) even get a surprise gift to take home.

In these days of touchy-feely fairness, it's not often you get to unleash your ruthless side. Give the kids a rare opportunity to beat their parents at something (you know who you are, competitive mums and dads!) during an evening of fast and furious karting. It's how a lot of top F1 drivers (including Jenson Button and current world champion Lewis Hamilton) first got into racing before they were lured away by the big bucks. The experience begins with a full safety briefing for the whole group followed by a 15 minute practice session. After a break to get your breath back, you'll hit the track for another 15 minute driving session. A lap time report at the end tells you how well each of you has driven and who has ended up with the highest overall score. In the spirit of good family relations, you can show there are no hard feelings by joining in a rousing chorus of 'We Are The Champions' on the way home!

Let's face it, there are only so many times that the kids are going to get excited when parents say ''Let's go to the cinema!'' or ''Let's go to the museum!''. It's time to try something completely different - a trip to Cheshire's premier falconry venue, to meet some magnificent birds of prey up close. Everyone gets the opportunity to handle four different birds of prey, from an eagle owl to a vulture and find out what makes a hawk a hawk, a falcon a falcon and an owl an owl. Once comfortable with the birds, you'll have the chance to fly some of them - there's nothing quite like the feeling you get when a top predator swoops in to land on your glove. You'll also go for a hawk walk, where you'll learn some more about the basics of falconry. There'll be lots of photo opportunities with the birds and you can also catch some of the flying displays that take place at the venue throughout the day. Tea and biscuits are included.
