Days Out London
Sometimes we all need to get away for a few days. But we don't all want to go to the same place - which is lucky, since it might get a bit crowded if we did. So we've come up with an experience that lets you choose your perfect destination, whether it's a rural retreat at St Pierre Country Club in Wales or a busy city break in London's Regent Park. You'll enjoy a two-night stay for two people in a double or twin room at a selection of premium Marriott hotels chosen for their fantastic locations. Your stay includes breakfast and a delicious dinner from the restaurant table d'hote menu each day (drinks not included). You can stay either Friday and Saturday night, or Saturday and Sunday night and there are plenty of hotels to choose from, all over the country. All the hotels are minimum four star and as Marriott hotels are renowned for their high standard of accommodation, food and service, all you have to worry about is deciding where to go.

Should you go on a sight-seeing cruise on the Thames? Are the views better from the London Eye? Or should you just cut to the chase and have a nice dinner somewhere? With this experience you can do all three. You may have to queue a bit but it'll certainly be worth it when you climb aboard your air-conditioned capsule of the London Eye. The Eye slowly turns, giving you sensational panoramic views across London from 135 metres up. Then later, board Bateaux London's river cruiser from the glass pontoon at Embankment Pier for a welcome cocktail. There's cabaret entertainment during your four course a la carte meal before after-dinner dancing. But don't let the great food distract you from the fabulous views, as you cruise past the Houses of Parliament, the Tower of London and many more iconic landmarks. Depending on the season you'll cruise at dusk or in darkness, with the city lit up along the river. This is a wonderful way to see the city from two unique perspectives.

These days air travel is a nightmare of queues, checks and delays - and modern passenger jets are so vast that it's easy to forget you're in the air at all. Recreate the thrill of early air travel with a flight in one of Britain's best loved pre-war aircraft, the De Havilland Dragon Rapide biplane. Taking off from the Imperial War Museum Duxford, you'll fly south to London, enjoying magnificent views from 1,500 feet. First the Millennium Dome appears on the horizon, followed by London's famous skyline. You'll get wonderful views of the capital's landmarks, including Canary Wharf, St Paul's Cathedral, the royal parks and palaces and the meandering Thames. Back on terra firma, you'll get free entry into the Imperial War Museum (and half price entry for any guests) - it's Europe's premier aviation museum, spread over 85 acres and housing classic planes like Spitfires, a B17 and the prototype Concorde.

Casanova called it the 'elixir of love'. French doctors used to prescribe it to women with broken hearts. Scientists say it stimulates the release of endorphins, the 'happy hormones'. Need we say more? This fabulous chocolate workshop begins with an informative talk on the history of chocolate, either by a master chocolatier, who served as the Head Pastry Chef at the Ritz Hotel in both London and Paris, or by an experienced chocolatier. Sample the chocolate fountain before you move onto the creative part of the workshop, making truffle fillings, then dipping your truffles into Belgian chocolate and decorating them with a variety of toppings and coverings. As a delicious memento of your experience you'll take home between 40 and 50 Belgian chocolates each, all wrapped, designed and made by you, to share with friends and family - or to save as a special treat.
