Days Out
Welcome to a tour of London with a difference. Whether you're a born and bred Londoner or have never been to the city in your life, this is an experience not to be missed. If you can't stand chocolate on the other hand - well, what's wrong with you? Learn some interesting facts about London while the tour takes you from Fortnum and Mason down hidden side streets and alleyways that conventional tours leave out. On top of this you will be given an in depth talk on the history of chocolate. Find out what makes chocolate taste the way it does, how to store it, how to eat it (!) and where to find the best stuff. You will also visit a selection of London's finest chocolate shops including Charbonnel et Walker and Rococo Chocolates and experience tastings in all of them. Whilst there is a fair bit of moving around, don't worry, it's not totally uphill. You'll even get a break for - you guessed it - hot chocolate, along the way. At the end of the day, take home a goody bag to enjoy later.

Got a head for heights and nerves of steel? Challenge yourself with a whole day of climbing at the National Ice Climbing Centre - the UK's top indoor rock and ice climbing facility. Even if you're a complete stranger to crampons, this is the place to learn the ropes (pun intended). After being kitted out with climbing equipment (all included) you'll start off with your feet still firmly on the ground during a full briefing on safety and basic climbing techniques. Then put theory into practice with an hour and a half rock climbing session, scaling the indoor wall with expert instruction. After lunch (not included) at the on-site cafe, you'll tackle the ice wall. Using a top-roped belay safety system, you'll climb the 50ft wall of ice, neve (frozen snow) and a variety of precarious angles to give you an exhilarating (and occasionally terrifying) introduction to the sport. You'll be amazed at what you can achieve! At the end of the day you'll receive a photo and certificate to take home.

This is a fascinating introduction to an ancient and intriguing pursuit and an unforgettable opportunity to handle some magnificent birds of prey. It is extraordinary watching the relationship between man and bird of prey - when we visited one supplier, his bird actually bowed to him! - the product of many years' training. During the course of the day, you will have the opportunity to hold the bird on your arm and in the afternoon you will go out hunting or flying the birds with the falconer - this is truly fascinating, watching the bird of prey hunting across the countryside.

Horse riding isn't just spoiled little girls cajoling fat ponies round the gymkhana course - it's relaxing, exciting and refreshingly outdoorsy. So whether you're a novice or an experienced rider we're sure that you'll love this riding day. Staff always appreciate an early arrival so that you can both get registered and help make sure the experience begins promptly and runs to time. You'll start off with a half hour lesson within the grounds of the riding school, during which your instructor will assess your abilities to plan your next activity. Then you'll either continue with your lesson or go out on a hack (including walk and trot) in lovely English countryside or woodland. On your first visit, cantering is not allowed outside the arenas. Over the course of the experience you'll have three hours' riding, taking place before and after a hearty three course lunch, which you'll thoroughly deserve - riding is pretty physical and there's nothing like fresh air to make a person hungry!

Let's face it, there are only so many times that the kids are going to get excited when parents say ''Let's go to the cinema!'' or ''Let's go to the museum!''. It's time to try something completely different - a trip to Cheshire's premier falconry venue, to meet some magnificent birds of prey up close. Everyone gets the opportunity to handle four different birds of prey, from an eagle owl to a vulture and find out what makes a hawk a hawk, a falcon a falcon and an owl an owl. Once comfortable with the birds, you'll have the chance to fly some of them - there's nothing quite like the feeling you get when a top predator swoops in to land on your glove. You'll also go for a hawk walk, where you'll learn some more about the basics of falconry. There'll be lots of photo opportunities with the birds and you can also catch some of the flying displays that take place at the venue throughout the day. Tea and biscuits are included.

Lots of people assume that the most exciting thing you're likely to see in the coastal waters round Britain is a mackerel. In fact there is a staggering variety of marine and bird life living happily round our shores - and with this experience you'll get the chance to see it for yourselves. You'll be welcomed at the marina, before going aboard your boat and heading out. You might see bottlenose, common or striped dolphins, porpoises, basking sharks, minke whales, fin whales, humpback whales (yes, whales and sharks around Britain!), atlantic grey seals and visiting seasonal sea birds including skuas, sabine's gulls and the fabulously-named sooty shearwaters. Of course these are all wild animals so we can't guarantee which ones may make an appearance on the day, but we can guarantee a fascinating and eye-opening experience.

For a truly stunning day at sea you can do no better than a day's sailing on board a beautiful tall ship. These magnificent and luxurious vessels, J R Tolkien (two-mast topsail schooner), Loth Lorien (three-mast schooner) and Artemis (three-mast barque), have masts over 30 metres high and are perfect for a day of traditional sailing. You'll begin with refreshments and a safety briefing from your experienced crew, before sailing out onto the Solent area. If you want to enjoy some hands-on activity, then there's always a job to do on board, from raising the sails to helming the ship, and the friendly crew will show you how it's done. If you'd rather, you can relax on deck and chat to the crew about the sailing life. A buffet lunch and afternoon tea will be served on board during the day.
